Red Devils Looking To Bounce Back
“I thought we played well Friday night considering we had a short bench,” said Wallaceburg head coach Jamie Knight of his team’s 14-5 loss to the perennial powerhouse Six Nations Rebels.
Playing at home in Dresden on Sunday, Wallaceburg hopes to rally, but struggled again, losing 14-6 to the Elora Mohawks.
“Our first period Sunday was well played but then we quit and took selfish penalties,” said Knight.
Discipline, and overcoming the mental aspects of the game for the inexperienced Wallaceburg Red Devils team has been a common theme this season, but Knight also believes his team continues to work hard and battle.
“We are a young team that keeps making mental errors but I commend my young team for playing hard and battling for each other.”
“Discipline has been an issue from game one that we just can’t seem to figure out. I honestly wish I had that answer and I know that falls on me as the coach. When you don’t have depth and numbers it’s impossible to have accountability. That’s been our issue all season.”
Wallaceburg will play back to back games this weekend, Saturday at 4pm in Owen Sound, and Sunday at 4pm at home against Guelph trying to get back in the win column.
