Deni Goure Invited To Hockey Canada’s U17 Development Camp

Deni Goure of Grande Pointe was one of 112 players selected from across Canada to attend Hockey Canada’s U17 Development Camp next month.

The week long camp is the first step in making one of Hockey Canada’s International rosters.

Goure recently signed with the OHL’s Owen Sound Attack, the team which drafted the dynamic forward 10th overall in this year’s OHL Priority Selection Draft.

“The national under-17 development camp is the first step these athletes take in their Team Canada career,” said Shawn Bullock, director of men’s national teams in a news release. “Ultimately, these players will learn what it takes to wear the Maple Leaf in international competition. We are here to support their development by providing the on- and off-ice experiences they need to achieve the dream of representing their country.”

Goure was the captain of the Chatham-Kent Cyclones Minor Midget ‘AAA’ team this season, and was named the Alliance Player of the Year.

The camp will take place from July 19-26 at the Markin MacPhail Centre at WinSport’s Canada Olympic Park.
