Kistulinec, Pegg On District Track and Field Team

A pair of Chatham-Kent athletes will compete for the District ‘A’ Team at the Ontario Legion Track and Field Championships this summer.

Morpeth’s Emma Pegg, and Charing Cross’ Kristyn Kistulinec both earned their way onto the District ‘A’ roster for the upcoming Ontario championships, scheduled to be held in Brampton, Ontario from July 12-13.

Both made the team based on their performance at the District ‘A’ championships held in LaSalle in June.

Pegg won the youth girls 1500m race in 4:44.93, as well as the 800m in 2:10.63. Her 800m performance was a District ‘A’ record. Pegg was recently named to Team Canada’s U18 roster for the 800m event.

Kistulinec won the youth girls hammer throw with a distance of 40.53m. She was also third in the shot put throwing 11.85, and sixth in discus (26.98m).
