Dane Fox Signs With Denmark’s Frederikshavn White Hawks
Dane Fox of Thamesville will play professional hockey next season for Denmark’s Frederikshavn White Hawks.
Fox spent the last two seasons playing for the Nurnberg Ice Tigers of the DEL, where he notched 42 points in 86 games.
The Frederikshavn White Hawks announced Fox’s signing Tuesday saying the following:
“He is an explosive ice hockey player who plays hard and who is not afraid to go straight to the goal. He is a good skater, with an incredibly hard shot,” said the announcement, through Google Translate.
“Dane Fox is a real team player who always goes in the front row to win with his teammates, and at the same time he is very good at powerplay. We expect Dane Fox to become a top player in the Metal League, and look forward to welcoming him and his girlfriend to Frederikshavn in a month.”
Prior to playing in the DEL, Fox spent 3 seasons in the ECHL, scoring 90 goals and 171 points in 194 games. He was the OHL’s Overage Player of the Year in 2014, earning an entry level contract with the NHL’s Vancouver Canucks.
