Spencer Marcus Living Dream Of Playing NCAA Baseball
Before too long, Spencer Marcus of Chatham will be on the field with his new school, Niagara University, playing NCAA Division I baseball for the Purple Eagles.
After spending a season with Dodge City, a Junior college in Kansas, Marcus earned a scholarship from Niagara University, achieving a lifelong goal and dream of his.
“Playing D1 baseball has always been one of my long term goals since I picked up a bat as a kid,” said Marcus, an alumni of the Chatham Diamonds, and Great Lakes Canadians.
“Being chosen to play at this high of a level has given me confidence and drive to become the best baseball player I can be,” he continued.
Niagara University was always on Marcus’ radar, and now, he will get to attend his school of choice, both academically and athletically.
“Niagara has always been one of my top schools to go to, not only because they are D1, but because they offer great academics. I felt like it was a good option to take the offer and while getting a degree I can still play high level baseball which is what I always dreamed of doing.”
An outfielder, Marcus is playing this summer for the St. Clair Green Giants of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League.
