As the controversy heats up about Flamboro Downs limiting the areas that people under the age of majority can watch live harness racing, Dresden Raceway has made their stance clear.

“Dresden Raceway will always welcome children at the racetrack and make sure that they can watch live harness racing from inside the grandstand and outside on the tarmac.” said announcer and publicist Gary Patterson.

“We try and provide a great family experience for race fans. We know that these kids coming today are our future and one day they will bring their children and so on.” Patterson said.

Dresden Raceway’s 150 year history began when families would gather after church to see who had the fastest horse.

Even though Dresden Raceway is closed for the season they stand alongside Leamington Raceway and Hiawatha Horse Park are all kid friendly tracks in hopes to strengthen the fan base in Southwestern Ontario.
