CKSN Chatham-Kent July Male Athlete of the Month: Quinn Matteis

The CKSN Chatham-Kent Male Athlete of the Month for July 2019 is Quinn Matteis.

Each month, CKSN.ca will name a female and male athlete of the month.

Quinn Matteis had a strong month in the water, winning gold in the 2km Ontario Open Water Championships.

Earlier, Matteis was the high point earner in the 14U age bracket, winning gold at the Ontario Swimming Championships in the 400m, 800m, and 1500m freestyle competitions.

Matteis capped his month off winning a gold medal in the 400m freestyle race at the Canadian Junior National Championships. He touched in a time of 4:07.94. He added a pair of silvers at Nationals in the 800m freestyle (8:31.81) and 1500m freestyle (16:30.87) races.

He was also named the Chatham Y Pool Sharks Male Swimmer of the Year.

Matteis’ CKSN Athlete of the Month honours, will earn Matteis a spot in the voting to be named the 2019 Male Athlete of the Year.
