Minor Bantam Cyclones vs. London Jr. Knights – Scouting Report And Video Highlights
By Matt Pepper
While I scout Primarily Minor Midget AAA, I was able to attend a Minor Bantam game this weekend. Staying ahead of the curve a year or two ahead is important when the players have their Major Junior Draft year as you can see their progression year-over-year. While I won’t be able to attend all games in this age group, anything I attend, I will provide content for on CKSN.
This was a tough game for Chatham – Kent in this one as London was dominate from the first to final whistle, in a 7 – 0 final. Excellent play at both ends of the rink by London, with very few mistakes made. Below are some player notes from this contest:
#7 Jett Luchanko (London Jr. Knights) – Exceptional skater with good edge work. Was able to break gaps on defenseman throughout the game. Quick hands and the able to move the puck by defenders quickly. Relentless forecheck all game. Had an excellent cross – crease assist on the powerplay. Good screen later to cause a goal.
#3 Matthew Souliere (London Jr. Knights) – Was a penalty – killing machine in this game. All over the puck and in lanes constantly on special teams. Excellent teammate on the ice providing support all game. Uses his teammates well. Good skating with puck protection. Really set – the tempo in this game.
#17 Broden McConnell–Barker (London Jr. Knights) – Had a deadly release on this game with two goals. Very difficult to contain off the rush and was looking for seams on the powerplay all game. Responsible in his own end as well and all saw some time on the penalty kill.
