Carleton Named To Canada’s Olympic Pre-Qualifying Tournament Roster

Chatham’s Bridget Carleton was one of 16 athletes named to Canada’s women’s basketball roster for the FIBA Women’s Olympic Pre-Qualifying Americas Tournament in Edmonton in November.

“It’s always such an amazing experience when you get to have meaningful games played in Canada,” said Lisa Thomaidis, Head Coach of Canada’s Senior Women’s National Team in a news release. “With our road to Tokyo going through Edmonton, we couldn’t ask for anything more. We are excited to showcase the team that we have put in place for these games, and know that the quality of the competition and the athletes that will be on display will not disappoint.”

The FIBA Women’s Olympic Pre-Qualifying Tournament will take place from November 14-17, with Canada playing Cuba, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic.

Carleton is currently playing in the WNBL in Australia with the Townsville Fire.

She recently finished her rookie WNBA season starting the year with the Connecticut Sun, before finishing with the Minnesota Lynx. Carleton also played for Canada at the FIBA AmeriCup this year.
