CKSN Chatham-Kent September Female Athlete of the Month: Bridget Carleton
Each month, CKSN.ca will name a female and male athlete of the month.
To open September, Carleton continued to break ground as Chatham-Kent’s first ever Athlete to play in the WNBA. She signed with the Minnesota Lynx and finished the season with the team.
Following Minnesota’s elimination from the playoffs, Carleton headed to Puerto Rico for the FIBA AmeriCup.
She was one of Team Canada’s leaders statistically in the tournament, leading Canada as a starter throughout the tournament to a silver medal.
The finish puts Canada one step closer to qualifying for the 2020 Olympics.
Her CKSN Athlete of the Month honours, will earn Carleton a spot in the voting to be named the 2019 CKSN Female Athlete of the Year.
Congratulations Bridget, from CKSN.
Honourable Mention: Maddy Lavoie, Jessie McPherson.
