The Chatham-Kent Bantam ‘A’ Crush won their second straight tournament this weekend when they competed in the CCM World Invite in Detroit.

Chatham-Kent went 4-0 in round robin play while only allowing 1 goal against. This secured top spot in their pool and lined up a semi-final game with Honeybaked.

The Crush went on to win the semi by a score of 3-0. Goal scorers for CK were Analise Legere and Abby Tape (2) with assists from Lucie Maine (2), Jeanette Legere (2), and Ashlynn Spence. Amber Parent was in net for the shutout, her 3rd of the tournament.

In the finals, the Chatham-Kent Crush had to play a very tough team from Stoney Creek. Stoney Creek had only suffered 2 losses this season to date. The Crush came out on the winning end of a 2-0 score. CK had goals from Jeanette Legere and Ashlynn Spence with assists by Abby Tape and Analise Legere. Libby Barnard had the shutout, her 2nd of the tournament.

Morgyn Woudenburg was selected as the team’s MVP for the tournament as a result of her exceptional two-way play while being asked to log extra ice due to a short CK bench.
