Chatham Maroons Fire Coaching Staff, Roeszler Steps In

The Chatham Maroons have fired their coaching staff. Taking over will be new general manager Tyler Roeszler.

Although a formal announcement has yet to come from the team, players and staff were informed Friday afternoon of the change.

Roeszler, who took over recently as GM, previously served as head coach of the team before himself stepping down.

After relieving Kyle Makaric, who was in his second full season as Maroons head coach, of his duties, Roeszler appointed himself new bench boss of the team.

The Chatham maroons have struggled out of the gate this season although they are one of the youngest teams in the GOJHL. Many believed the organization would continue with a local youth movement building a long term future under Makaric.

Roeszler is expected to make roster additions and changes in the coming weeks.
