The CKSN Chatham-Kent Female Athlete of the Month for December 2019 is Chatham’s Payton Sabourin.

Each month, CKSN.ca will name a female and male athlete of the month.

Sabourin is competing this year at the NCAA Division I level with the Oakland University Golden Grizzlies.

To open the month, Sabourin helped her Oakland team will gold at the Saginaw Valley State University Holiday Open
in the 4x400m event alongside Hannah Coverdill, Chanel Gardner and Cassidy Newburg with a time of 3:53.34.

Individually at the SVSU Holiday Open she finished 10th in the 200m dash (26.20), and 3rd in the 400m dash with a time of 59.14

Later in December at the Tiffin University Alumni Open, Sabourin found the podium again placing second in the women’s 300m with a time of 42.02

Her CKSN Athlete of the Month honours, will earn Sabourin a spot in the voting to be named the 2020 CKSN Female Athlete of the Year.
