CKSN Chatham-Kent November Female Athlete of the Month: Jessie McPherson
The CKSN Chatham-Kent Female Athlete of the Month for November 2019 is Chatham’s Jessie McPherson.
Each month, CKSN.ca will name a female and male athlete of the month.
McPherson, who was named this month to Team Canada’s National Women’s U18 hockey team for the upcoming World U18 Hockey Championships in Bratislava, Slovakia had a spectacular month.
The netminder starred for Team Ontario Blue at the Canadian U18 Hockey Championships leading all goaltenders with a 0.949 save percentage, falling to Team Quebec 2-1 in overtime during the bronze medal game. She also posted a 1.60 goals against average.
Playing for the struggling Cambridge Rivulettes in the PWHL, McPherson currently sits with a 0.928 save percentage and 1.70 goals against average in league play.
She also officially signed her commitment letter to play NCAA Division I hockey next season for the University of Vermont this month.
To close the month, McPherson backstopped the Cambridge Rivulettes to a Two Nations Prep Championship.
Her CKSN Athlete of the Month honours, will earn McPherson a spot in the voting to be named the 2019 CKSN Female Athlete of the Year.
