Jana Kucera Named Tournament All-Star

To open the tournament, St. Clair defeated host Seneca 71-44 Friday night. Noor Bazzi led the Saints with 15 points followed by Jana Kucera who scored 14 of her own.
A 72-62 win over Mohawk College (Hamilton) Saturday morning in the semi-finals slotted St. Clair in the final as Jana Kucera hit 5 triples for the Saints on her way to a remarkable 32 points. Bazzi reached double figures again scoring 12 points.
In the Championship game the Saints could not hold a 9-point lead in the third quarter and fell 72-67 to Fanshawe College (London) settling for runner-up. Logan Kucera scored a game high 21 points with sister Jana recording 15 points ,while Bazzi chipped in with 10 points for St. Clair.
Jana Kucera and Bazzi were rewarded for their efforts and named to the tournament all-star team.
Chatham’s Jessica Jordan plays for Fanshawe College.
The St. Clair Women’s Basketball team will host the very same opponent January 17th at the SportsPlex when Fanshawe College (London) comes to town as the OCAA West Division league schedule resumes. Tip off time is set for 6:00pm.
