Last night in Blenheim the Lakeshore Canadiens eliminated the Blades from the PJHL playoffs by a score of 4-2. The Blades went down to the Canadiens in four straight, but not before giving the home fans some hope.

The Blades started the third period up by a 2-0 score, but fell to the pressure, and power play of the Canadiens.

The first period was scoreless, and both teams had chances. Chris Dewulf playing in what would be his last career junior hockey game, was very sharp the whole game, and gave his team a chance to steal a win. Early in the second period (1:40), Blades Christian Moccia’s shot got by Canadiens goaltender Matt Tovell, to give his team the lead. At 16:23 of the period, Chris Dewulf found Moccia behind the defense a fired the puck down ice. Moccia streaked in on the left side and ripped a slapshot that caught a top corner to give the Blades a 2-0 lead.

In the third the Canadiens Hunter Bailey got his team on the board at 6:52.

A minute later while on a power play Trevor Larue tied things up. Less than a minute later, and still on a power play, with the extra attacker out due to a delayed penalty, Tycen Chittle put the Canadiens ahead. The Blades would pull their goaltender for the extra attacker, but Lakeshores Blake Bain was able to gain control of the puck and put it in the open net for insurance.
