Carleton, Canada Making Final Push For Olympics
Chatham’s Bridget Carleton and Canada’s Women’s Senior National Basketball Team are making their final push for a spot in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics this week as they are set to participate in the FIBA Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
Canada will face Belgium (February 6, 2:35pm), Sweden (February 8, 2:35pm) and Japan (February 9, 12:05pm)
The tournament is being held in Belgium, with the two highest-placed teams and Japan, qualifying for the Tokyo 2020 Women’s Olympic Basketball Tournament.
Carleton has spent the summer months playing professionally for the WNBL’s Townsville Fire in Australia.
The reigning Big 12 Player of the Year with the Iowa State Cyclones, Carleton recently completed her NCAA career, and spent her first professional season in the WNBA split between the Minnesota Lynx and Connecticut Sun, who drafted her 21st overall in this year’s WNBA draft.
