Muharrem, Atkinson Win OUA Medals

Chatham’s James Muharrem won an OUA silver medal this weekend at the OUA Track and Field Championships at York University.

The University of Guelph student took silver in the 60m hurdles, finishing in a time of 8.19s. His time qualified him for the USports National Championships. Guelph won the overall team title as well.

Anthony Atkinson, another Chatham product also medalled at the OUA championships, winning bronze in the men’s weight throw. He threw a distance of 16.07m.

On the second day of the championships, Atkinson, who competes for the University of Windsor, finished 4th in the shot put throwing 14.87m.

Chatham’s Ally Oulds competed in two relay events for Western University, with her team finishing 4th in the women’s 4x200m race, and 6th in the 4x400m.
