Southwest Set To Open Playoffs Against Burlington

The Southwest Wildcats are set to open their 2020 PWHL Playoffs against the Burlington Barracudas this Saturday.

Southwest features a large contingent of Chatham-Kent hockey players and local alumni.

Sarah Marchand, who played last season for the Chatham Outlaws Midget ‘AA’ team finished second on the Wildcats in scoring with 13 goals and 30 points in 38 games this season. She is committed to play NCAA DI hockey for Robert Morris in 2021-2022.

Directly behind Marchand in scoring on Southwest was Brooke Campbell, and Charing Cross’ Brooke Michaud, who both played for the Outlaws Midget ‘AA’ team last year.

Campbell had 12 goals and 23 points in 38 games, while Michaud had 18 points in 36 games.

Also playing for Southwest are Wallaceburg’s Taryn Jacobs, Chatham’s Brenna Dittmer, and Outlaws alumni Bri Eid and Emery Bonner.

Southwest opens at home against #4 Burlington February 29. The two teams will play off in a best of five series.
