The Kent Minor Hockey Association has a great bunch of bantam aged kids playing on three different Cobras teams. As of this past weekend they were the only Cobras still in the OMHA playdowns.

Unfortunately, the Major Bantam Cobras were eliminated by a strong Niagara Falls Flyers team last weekend, but not before forcing a fifth game in their six-point series.

Still in the hunt are the Minor Bantam Cobras and the Bantam AE teams.

The Minor Bantams have cruised through three rounds of playoffs without a loss and have advanced to the semi finals. They eliminated the Windsor Jr Spitfires, Lasalle Sabres, and Garden City Jr Falcons (St Catherines), all in three game sweeps. They now face the Milton Winterhawks, with play starting this Saturday,
5 pm at Thames Campus arena. Game two goes Sunday, 3:45 at Thames.

The teams then resume play Friday, March 6 th and 7 th in St Catherines. If needed they return to Chatham (Tilbury) on Sunday, and if the teams are still tied the deciding game goes back to St Catherines on Monday, March 9.

The Bantam AE Cobras are up 4 points to zero in the semi final round with the Lasalle Sabres. The AE Cobras also have not dropped a game since the playoffs began. They resume play this Saturday, 3:30 pm at Thames Campus. If Chatham wins the series, they will face either Northunderland or Caledon in the OMHA finals.

There should be some good hockey this weekend in Chatham, so get out and give the local kids some hometown support!
