UCC Lancers Finish 4th At Curling Provincials

The UCC Lancers narrowly missed a medal at the Ontario School Curling Provincial Championships held over the past three days at the Chatham Granite Club in Chatham, Ontario.

Skipped by Alex Jeromel, the Lancers team also includes Caden Rivard (lead), John Pumfrey (second), and Austin Haddock (vice).

In pool play UCC finished a perfect 3-0 defeating Carleton Place Notre Dame 7-2, Carleton Place High School 11-5, and Bracebridge and Muskoka Lakes Secondary School 11-2.

Facing Haliburton in the semifinal Saturday morning, UCC was narrowly defeated 6-5, sending them to the bronze medal game against Glengarry, who they also fell to 6-5 when Glengarry scored 2 points in the final end of play.

The Lancers finished 4th overall at the tournament.
