With the Mooretown Flags and Lakeshore Canadiens facing off in the PJHL Stobbs Division championship series, the message following Hockey Canada’s coronavirus directives was clear – the year is done.

PJHL Western Conference Manager Mark Hagerman confirmed this message to CKSN Friday via phone.

“The season officially is cancelled as per Hockey Canada’s directive,” he said. “The season is now finished, so there will not be a champion this season.”

Hagerman also stated that spring camps and tryouts are in jeopardy until Hockey Canada gives the go ahead, and companies re-instate insurance for the league.

“All skates and collective gatherings are cancelled, which means spring camps might also be cancelled,” he said.

This is the first time in history, the PJHL, or its predecessor Great Lakes Junior C Hockey League will not award a champion.
