Johnson, Kucera Win WESPY Awards

Pierce Johnson was a major honouree at the 2020 WESPY (Winsdor Essex Sports Person of the Year) Awards Tuesday, while Jana Kucera also took home an award.

Johnson, who is the reigning University of Windsor Male Athlete of the Year, and the current OUA West Player of the Year, was named the WESPY Male Athlete of the Year. He also took home Male Volleyball Player of the Year.

Kucera, who led the OCAA in scoring last season, and was a First Team All-Star for the St. Clair Saints, was named the Women’s Basketball Player of the Year, and was a finalist for the WESPY Women’s Athlete of the Year.
