Novice Wildcats End Season With Ontario Cup Bronze
In their opening game, the Wildcats had a disappointing 1-point loss against London Ramblers, finishing with a score of 19-18. Ugo Adefarasin contributed 4 points, 3 assists, 5 rebounds and 2 steals while Tommy Grochmal had 4 points, 5 rebounds and 2 steals and Braelen Baylis had 4 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal and 2 blocks. Carter Segee contributed 2 points, 2 rebounds, 1 block and an amazing 10 steals. Gabe Deighton and Cameron Pennell each contributed 2 points.
In their second game, the Wildcats faced Scarborough ONETEN and came away with a 32-12 win. Ugo Adefarasin led the team with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 7 steals, while Braelen Baylis contributed 8 points, 3 rebounds and 1 steal. Carter Segee had 2 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal. Tommy Grochmal and Elijah Brown each contributed 2 points and 4 rebounds, while Latrell Cobey-Hutchings had 1 assist, 3 rebounds, and 5 steals.
In their semi-final game, the Wildcats faced Huron Lakers, and came up short with a 25-19 loss. Ugo Adefarasin led the team with 10 points, 1 assist, 3 rebounds and 3 steals, Braelen Baylis added 5 points, 1 rebound and 1 steal, while Gabe Deighton contributed 3 points, 1 assist and 3 steals. Carter Segee added 2 points, and continued his strong defensive play with 6 rebounds and 8 steals.
Although the outcome of that game was not what the boys hoped for, their relentless determination throughout the weekend, led them to the Bronze Medal game, where they faced the Collingwood Trailblazers and secured a 43-10 win. Braelen Baylis contributed 8 points, 1 assist, 7 rebounds and 2 steals, while Gabe Deighton added 8 points, 1 assist, 4 rebounds and 4 steals. Tommy Grochmal also contributed 8 points, 4 rebounds and 3 steals, while Cameron Pennell added 8 points and 4 rebounds. Ugo Adefarasin continued his strong play with 5 points, 4 assists, 7 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks, while Jack Chickowski added 4 points, 2 rebounds and 4 steals. Defensively, Carter Segee contributed 13 rebounds, 6 steals and 1 block, while Latrell Cobey-Hutchings added 5 rebounds and 8 steals.
