Is The Season Over For NHLers Travis Konecny and TJ Brodie? If So, What Is Next?
With the NHL officially suspending their 2019-2020 schedule, questions loom about when, or if, the National Hockey League (NHL) will complete their season.
With that in mind, it could spell the end of the season for local NHLers including Travis Konecny and TJ Brodie.
Konecny, who already set a new career high in points with 61 through 66 games with the Philadelphia Flyers, was poised to also set a new career best in goals after tying last season’s marker of 24 goals.
He’s in the first season of a new $5.5 million per season contract, which doesn’t expire until 2024-2025.
Brodie is at the other end of the spectrum, likely facing a career low point total in the final season of his contract with the Calgary Flames. Brodie, who was experiencing a hot streak as of late, will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason. He had 19 points in 64 games this season.
Brodie has been linked to many teams for next season including the Toronto Maple Leafs.
