The Fanshawe Falcons celebrate an OCAA championship

A trio of local basketball products, Wallaceburg’s Ashleigh LaBlance, Walpole Island’s Legacie Blackbird, and Chatham’s Jessica Jordan won the OCAA women’s basketball championship Sunday with the Fanshawe Falcons.

The Fanshawe College Falcons beat the St. Clair Saints 93-80.

Jordan played 36-minutes scoring 9 points, while LaBlance had 6 points. Blackbird was held off the scoresheet.

On the other side of the ball, Logan Kucera of Chatham had 26 points, while twin sister Jana Kucera had 21 points. Meghan Zelina did not play.

The Falcons will advance to the CCAA National Championships from March 18-21 in Nanaimo, British Columbia.
