Baseball Ontario Extends Suspension Of All Activities Until At Least June
Baseball won’t be starting any time soon in Chatham-Kent. Baseball organizations run in several of Chatham-Kent’s communities including Chatham, Wallaceburg, Blenheim, Tilbury, Charing Cross, Merlin, Dresden, Kent Bridge, and elsewhere.
Baseball Ontario announced on April 20 that they would be extending their suspension of all in-person baseball related activities until at least May 31.
“Baseball Ontario remains committed to the safety of the baseball community,” their media release stated. “While the COVID‐ 19 situation remains fluid, we are continuing to monitor the situation. Based on the guidelines of the provincial government and public health authorities, the suspension of all in‐person baseball programs and activities is being extended until May 31, 2020.”
This means that tryouts, which would typically be underway, have been postponed.
Updates from the Ontario governing body are expected to continue to come as the situation develops.
