The Kent Cobras Bantam ‘AE’ team were named OMHA co-champions

The Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) announced co-champions for all of the 55 divisions playing in the OMHA playdowns at the time of the COVID-19 outbreak.

None of the OMHA championship series’ were able to be completed, including the Bantam AE1 championship, which featured the Kent Cobras playing the Northumberland Nighthawks, and the Peewee DD championship, which featured the Dresden Jr. Kings against the Duoro Dukes.

“Our goal is to be positive and proactive in a trying environment by rewarding the players and teams who deservedly made it that far through the highly competitive Playdowns,” said Ian Taylor, OMHA Executive Director in a news release. “It’s a simple gesture, but hopefully a meaningful one, as well.”

The Kings and Cobras will now forever be recognized as OMHA champions
