Hometown hockey player Adrian Stubberfield has been named the Chatham Maroons rookie of the year.

“Adrian had a great rookie year,” said Maroons head coach and general manager Tyler Roeszler. “He played in all situations, including being one of our top penalty killers, he had one of our top faceoff percentages, and he played on our powerplay.”

Stubberfield had a strong campaign with the Maroons compiling 9 goals and 40 points in 50 games as a rookie with the tream.

The Chatham-Kent Cyclones alumni represented the Maroons this season at the GOJHL Top Prospects Game.

Stubberfield played Major Midget ‘AAA’ with the Elgin-Middlesex Chiefs last season, winning an Alliance Hockey Championship.
