Meet Canada’s First Indigenous Olympic Gold Medallist: Kenneth Moore
Born in Balcarres, Saskatchewan in 1910, Moore was a member of Peepeekisis First Nation, while his parents hailed from Norway House First Nation in Manitoba.
A right winger, Moore helped the Winnipeg Hockey Club, who were Canada’s representatives at the 1932 Olympic Games held in Lake Placid, New York, win an Olympic gold.
Kenneth Moore was Canada’s first Indigenous Olympic Gold medallist.
