Local Dirt Track Drivers Get Racing At Humberstone Speedway
Dirt Track Racing is alive and well in Ontario at New Humberstone Speedway in Port Colborne, Ontario.
Dozens of local drivers, who typically call the Southern Ontario Motor Speedway home were on the track July 12 at Humberstone.
In the Late Models races, John Pinsonneault was the top local finisher. Pinnsoneault climbed to 5th before going over the cushion to bring out the caution lap. Restarting at the back of the field, the local driver made his way back to third with a hand full of laps left. He caught the leaders, but was unable to overtake them finishing third.
Darryl Lucio caught up to Pinsonneault after the race. Listen to their interview below:
Jim Dale Jr was the next highest local finisher, crossing in 5th.
The dusty track presented troubles for many drivers, causing several spin outs and collisions.
Other local drivers included Gregg Haskell, Jason Haskell, Tim McKenzie, Tyler Lozon, Jimmy Jones, Mike Lewis, Eugene Hoekstra, Matt Sorrell, and Cody Vandewynckel.
Lucio also caught up with Vandewynckel who was making his Late Models debut at Humberstone.
