Silver Stick Cancelled, No Tournament For Chatham

One of North America’s most prestigious hockey tournaments will not run in 2020-2021, as International Silver Stick has cancelled all Regional and Finals tournaments in Canada.

“This decision was not easily made and we understand the disappointment this may cause, but please be assured the health and safety of our players, coaches, parents and tournament volunteers was of utmost importance in our decision,” International Silver Stick wrote in a release.

Chatham has historically played host to a Regional Silver Stick tournament, one of Chatham-Kent’s largest annual hockey events.

This year’s tournament, scheduled for December 11-13, is now cancelled.

Silver Stick hopes to resume tournaments in Canada in 2021-2022.
