Dallas Maurovic Thankful For His Time In Chatham
Dallas Maurovic had a journeyman Junior career, playing in three provinces at the Junior B, Junior A, and Major Junior levels.
His final stop, this past season as the captain of the Chatham Maroons saw his best offensive output, and capped off a memorable career.
“Throughout my junior hockey career I was extremely fortunate to play for some great organizations in some great cities,” said Maurovic. “I’ve made a lot of lifelong friendships with not only teammates but members of the communities and fans. The memories that I’ve made are amazing and I will always remember them.”
This season in Chatham, Maurovic scored 26 goals and 59 points in 39 games, and 10 points in 7 playoff games.
“It was a great experience playing for Chatham. The fans are dedicated and always supported us. The organization is exceptional from top to bottom. I’m happy and proud to say that I was able to finish my junior career for such a great team. It was an honour to finish as team captain, and will always be one of my best junior hockey memories.”
The next stop on Maurovic’s road is a University career with the York University Lions men’s hockey team, where he will also study business.
Despite such an exciting step in moving to OUA hockey for Maurovic, he’s still thinking of Chatham, and hoping the community, and team rebound quickly from the COVID-19 pandemic.
“This is a crazy time for not only hockey fans but for everyone. I hope that the city of Chatham is staying safe. I hope to see them all in the stands cheering on the Maroons soon.”
