CK’s Top 10 Sports Stories of 2020: #4 TJ Brodie Finds A New Home
TJ Brodie made news for a number of reasons in 2020.
As 2019 closed he was returning from a collapse on the ice during a Calgary Flames practice.
He was at the centre of many trade deadline conversations with the Calgary Flames, specifically being tied to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Brodie remained with the Calgary Flames, the team he’s been with since he was drafted. The Flames entered the playoffs and advanced beyond the opening round, with Brodie playing on the Flames’ top pairing.
But eventually, the Flames were eliminated by the Dallas Stars who advanced to the Stanley Cup finals.
Although the Calgary Flames showed interest in Brodie, the talented defender eventually chose to sign with the Toronto Maple Leafs, on a four year, $20-million contract.
2021 will undoubtedly have TJ Brodie story lines as the defender enters Toronto’s fishbowl environment.
