COVID-19 was the top story globally in 2020, and in the sports world, it was no different.
In Chatham-Kent, COVID’s early impact was cancelling hockey playoffs, and other spring championships for basketball and volleyball.

When the Fall came, winter sports did not return, and college and university athletics were cancelled for the year. Junior hockey and minor hockey remained on the sidelines, basketball and volleyball practiced, but didn’t play.
When the year came to a close…a new lockdown and more cancellations were looming.
In reality, 2020 was the season that wasn’t.
Here’s hoping 2021 brings health, and sports can return by summer.
