Lavoie Takes Six Silvers In Christmas Races

Wheatley’s Maddy Lavoie got off the blocks quickly in the Delta State Christmas Invitational. She collected six second place finishes at the event.

Lavoie came in second in the 200 yard breaststroke in 2:16.99. The finish was an NCAA invited time from last year.

She also took second in the 200 individual medley, touching in 2:04.73. On the opening night of the meet, Lavoie helped her 200 medley relay, to a second place finish. Swimming with Lavoie in the race was Liv Leslie, Celeste Turner, and Victoria Brady, finishing in a combined 1:46.08.

Lavoie’s other second place finishes included in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:03.21, 100 backstroke in 55.93 which earned an NCAA “B” cut time, and another relay silver in the 200 freestyle relay.
