PJHL Season On Hold
The Provincial Junior Hockey League, which includes the PJHL Stobbs Division and four Chatham-Kent based teams, has announced their projected season start date of February 1 is on hold.
“The current lockdown measures have forced us to put a hold on those plans,” Terry Whiteside, commissioner of the PJHL said in a news statement.
“Our number one concern is for the safety of our players, coaches, staff and fans. All of us want to be able to have a safe return to hockey. As the COVID 19 situation continues to evolve we will be monitoring and preparing ourselves to be ready to return to the game.”
“As the largest Junior Hockey League in the world, the PJHL takes its responsibility very seriously to ensure the safety of all participants.”
The PJHL locally includes the Blenheim Blades, Dresden Kings, Wallaceburg Thunderhawks, and Wheatley Sharks.
