Allison Shaw Commits To Play Women’s Hockey For Adrian College
Allison Shaw, a Chatham-Kent Crush product, has committed to play ACHA Division I hockey next season for the Adrian College Bulldogs.
Shaw, a Belle River product, was co-captain of the Midget ‘AA’ Crush last season.
“I chose Adrian because I loved the campus and the feeling it brought me when I toured it last year before COVID. I loved the energy from the coaches and the team and also how the school was close to home,” Shaw said of the school, which is located in Adrian, Michigan.
Having spent multiple seasons in a Chatham uniform, Shaw credits the organization for much of her development.
“I have loved every minute I have played in the Outlaw and Crush organization. I have always had such amazing coaches who were dedicated to player and team development especially these past few years with Coach Diane Peters.”
Peters herself had high praise for Shaw, who is a defender.
“Allison, she’s an awesome kid. She was one of the captains last year and is one this year even tho we haven’t played. Always works hard, never backs away from a challenge,” said Peters of Shaw.
“She is a big girl with a lot of grit and power. College is going to help her get better. Chatham is really going to miss her as well as myself. This year has been a wash, but hope we can get her on the ice before she leaves to live her dream.”
Shaw, who will study criminology and social justice at Adrian College, is excited to get that dream started, and to make an immediate impact with Adrian.
“I am beyond excited to be playing at the next level. It is something I have been working towards my whole life and I can’t wait to start.”
“My goals in college are to improve my game at the next level and help my team succeed in any way I can both on and off the ice.”
