Brochu Signs Amateur Tryout Agreement With AHL Penguins
Brett Brochu has signed an amateur tryout agreement with the AHL’s Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
The Tilbury product was recently a standout at Hockey Canada’s World Junior championship tryouts, after a historic rookie reason in the OHL, where his 32-6-0 record with the London Knights set an OHL record for wins by a rookie.
Brochu was the OHL leader in goals against average (2.40) and was second in save percentage (.919). He was also named to the OHL’s All-Rookie team and won the Dinty Moore trophy.
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton is the AHL affiliate of the NHL’s Pittsburgh Penguins.
Training camp for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins started Friday, January 29.
