Jessie McPherson Named Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week

Chatham’s Jessie McPherson was named Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week for her performance in new for the Vermont Catamounts.
The announcement came after McPherson posted a 17-shutout in her NCAA debut. McPherson became the first Vermont freshman to post a shutout win in her collegiate debut since 2014 when she helped Vermont to the 4-0 victory over Holy Cross.
“Congrats to Jessie for getting both a win and a shutout in her collegiate debut,” said Head Coach Jim Plumer in a school news release. “She’s got a bright future ahead of her with our program.”
Wallaceburg’s Emma Gorski who plays for Merrimack took home the same honour prior to Christmas.
