McPherson Makes History With Back-To-Back Shutouts

No goaltender in University of Vermont history has recorded back-to-back shutouts in their first two NCAA Division I starts…until Chatham’s Jessie McPherson came along.

McPherson recorded her second shutout in as many starts for the Vermont Catamounts this weekend, making 26 saves in a 2-0 win over UConn.

“Very, very good win for us against an excellent UConn team,” said Head Coach Jim Plumer in a news release. “We again got strong contributions from our entire lineup. Jessie McPherson was outstanding in net again and our team is so committed to blocking shots and playing great defense.”

McPherson is a Chatham Outlaws, Chatham-Kent Cyclones, Kent Cobras, and Cambridge Rivulettes alumni before stepping up to the NCAA.

She also represented Team Canada last year at the U18 World Women’s Hockey Championships.
