Thomas Michaud Signs With NOJHL’s Blind River Beavers
Thomas Michaud of Charing Cross will play this season with the NOJHL’s Blind River Beavers.
Michaud will be joined by former Chatham Maroons forward Joshua Maine. The duo, who spent last season with the Leamington Flyers were acquired by Blind River earlier this week.
“Our GM Justin Solcz wanted to find us a place to play because the season in Leamington isn’t looking too promising. Pretty much just wanted to play hockey and this seemed like the best opportunity,” Michaud explained of the decision to head to the Junior A NOJHL.
Last season in Leamington, Michaud had 42 points in 42 games as one of the league’s best two-way forwards. He followed that up by recording 7 points in 5 playoff games.
“It’s very exciting,” Michaud said of the opportunity to get to play games this season.
“These are unprecedented times and I’m just grateful to be able to play the game that I love. Not only to develop and get better but to do everything I can to help this team win a championship.”
The NOJHL will have the opportunity to play a schedule as Northern Ontario begins to lift COVID-19 restrictions.
