“Be Brave, Be Bold, Be Strong” Says Bridget Carleton

Bridget Carleton is one of the best athletes to ever come out of Chatham-Kent, and her impact as a mentor and role model for local women is monumental.

The WNBA star for the Minnesota Lynx has opened the eyes and imagination of young women across Canada.

We asked Bridget to discuss what International Women’s Day means to her, and for other young aspiring athletes. Here was her response:

International Women’s Day is a chance to celebrate the successful, powerful, intelligent women we are. Through sport I have had the privilege to be around so many amazing women who have helped shape the person and athlete I am today… from my mother, my aunts, my grandmothers, to my teammates, female coaches, and mentors. They’ve taught me and challenged me to be brave, be bold, be strong, and continue to dream big. The sky’s the limit for us and no one can get in the way of that.
