Sabourin, Stephens Start NCAA Outdoor Season Strong

A pair of Chatham athletes, Payton Sabourin and Alison Stephens had strong starts to their NCAA outdoor track and field seasons this past weekend.

Stephens, who throws for the University of Arkansas at Little Rock collected a pair of third place finishes in the discus (38.28m) and hammer (45.53m) at the Richard Martin Jr. Invitational.

Payton Sabourin, who runs for Oakland University finished fourth in the 44m hurdles (1:03.54) and 13th in the 100m hurdles (16.36) at the Bob Davidson Memorial Invitational.

Both athletes are in their sophomore seasons.
