Brandon Montour Traded To The Florida Panthers
Former Tilbury product Brandon Montour has been traded by the Buffalo Sabres to the Florida Panthers.
Florida was looking to replace the injured Aaron Ekblad and add defensive depth for the playoffs.
“Brandon is a capable and talented right-shot defenseman who will have an immediate impact on our club,” Florida Panthers general manager Bill Zito said on NHL.com. “His two-way acumen and ability to play important minutes make him an exciting addition to the Panthers.”
Montour has 14 points in 38 games this season for the struggling Sabres.
The Sabres received a third round pick in exchange for Montour, who is a pending UFA.
