Ex-Maroons Hayden Verbeek Acquired By The Detroit Red Wings

Former Chatham Maroons forward Hayden Verbeek has been acquired by the Detroit Red Wings.

Verbeek and a 5th round pick were traded by the Montreal Canadiens for Jon Merrill leading up to the NHL Trade Deadline.

Verbeek played for the Chatham Maroons during the 2013-2014 season, notching 27 points in 35 games as a Junior hockey rookie.

He went on to a successful OHL career before signing as a free agent with the Montreal Canadiens. Verbeek was playing for the AHL’s Laval Rocket this season.
