New Senior Hockey League Eyes Fall Start

A new Senior A hockey league is eying an October start in Southwestern Ontario.

The newly formed Wester Ontario Super Hockey League has 6 confirmed teams for their season, with more likely to come this season or next. Currently, no Chatham-Kent entry has joined, but surrounding counties will have teams.

The league currently features the Alvinston Killer Bees, Strathroy Jeys, Tillsonburg Thunder, Elora Rocks, Stratford Fighting Irish, and Langton Royals.

Some of the teams are newly formed, while others have joined after departing from the WOAA.

The league also has a partnership in place with a similar league, the Easton Ontario Super Hockey League. The winners of each league will play in a newly formed provincial championship. The leagues will also face off in an All-Star weekend.
