OHL Draft Likely To Take Place In June
In a season where minor hockey players were not able to complete a regular schedule, an OHL Draft seems odd to discuss.
But the Ontario Hockey League has plans to move ahead, and an OHL Draft is probable for early June.
The Draft typically takes place the first weekend of April, but COVID-19 had other plans.
This year, scouts have been forced to view practices, skills sessions, scrimmages, and a few exhibition games. Teams with a more robust scouting staff will undoubtedly be more prepared for the upcoming draft.
From Chatham-Kent, two prospects Brayden Degelas and Declan Waddick are likely to hear their names called in the first few rounds of the draft.
Waddick is a likey first round pick, while Degelas is slated to go somewhere in the top three rounds.
Other local prospects in the conversation to be drafted include Brenden McKay, Trent Ledrew, Braden Twigg, David Brown, Tre Altiman, Jake Vancoillie, and Connor Tucker.
The OHL will officially announce details about the draft this week.
