TJ Brodie of Dresden scored his first goal in a Toronto Maple Leafs jersey, helping the Leafs to a 3-2 win over the Montreal Canadians.

Brodie was playing in his 40th game of the season without a goal when he scored early in the third period.

“It took a little bit longer than I would have liked,” Brodie said of his goal in post game comments. “Definitely you want it to mean something. It was just a bing bang play where it went off a couple of feet and popped out to me, luckily it went in.”

As some have said, in the media circus that is Toronto, Brodie managed to fly under the radar without a goal for 40 games due to his stellar play this season on the Leafs blueline.

Brodie played 22:23 in the game, blocking two shots. This season, he’s playing the 4th most minutes of any Toronto player behind only Morgan Reilly, Auston Matthews, and Mitch Marner.
