Ayim Wins French Title, Retires A Champion
Chatham born professional basketball player Miranda Ayim won a French Championship with Basket Landes.
Basket Landes defeated Montpellier 72-64 in the final.
“So proud of this team, so pleased for this club, and so honoured to be a part of this incredible adventure,” Ayim wrote on social media.
“Most of all, I’m so happy for the Landes region. After a difficult year, we were able to bring joy to people. After a decade + of building the program, we showed that integrity, hard work, and values pay off.”
It was also the last game of Ayim’s career. The two-time Olympian representing Canada and former WNBA player announced in March she would retire following this season.
With the win, Ayim retires a champion.
